I am a fellow at Pivot Collaborative under supervision. My work is informed by my own identities as a queer Latina, who is also bilingual (English/Spanish). I value exploring the intersection of identities and helping you build community. My goal is to encourage collaboration, so together, we can consider a holistic perspective of who you are and the experiences that have brought you here. This includes considering the impact various systems and spaces have on the identities you hold. You are the expert of your story and life, and this space is for you to be heard, seen, and supported.
My approach includes working from a strengths-based and trauma-informed lens. This informs my belief that you already have the tools necessary to grow and I understand the importance of meeting you where you are and being mindful of your needs. I believe this includes co-creating a space that is both compassionate and challenging.
I center empowering you along your journey and approach things from a decolonized and anti-oppressive perspective that acknowledges collective healing and accessibility. I utilize Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT), motivational interviewing, and narrative therapy techniques in my work. My clinical interests include working with BIPOC and LGBTQ+ adults and adolescents looking to navigate various forms of trauma, life transitions, first generation and immigrant experiences. I also support survivors of sexual assault and IPV, and those looking to process grief, and cultural, gender and sexual identity exploration.
I earned my Master of Education degree from DePaul’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. I have a background in youth development, school-based services, and community-based mental health services. This has included working with individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship issues, and providing crisis intervention.
