a trauma informed group practice

A graduate of the Columbia University School of Social Work (New York City), I have more than 30 years-experience working as a therapist. I am committed to a collaborative approach to therapy, partnering with my clients to envision and create the change they desire.
I specialize in working with people impacted by sexual abuse, boundary violation and other trauma. I am also interested in working with people who may be questioning or examining their identity, as well as those engaging body image issues, reproductive concerns, and medical challenges. I welcome working with people of all cultures, religious histories, and identities, including those identifying as LGBTQ+.
My highest priority is developing a safe, comfortable and trusting therapeutic alliance, believing that change occurs in the context of relationship. My work is honest, direct, and transparent, focusing on areas my clients wish to address. I have a supportive, relational approach to therapy incorporating narrative and psychodynamic techniques. I may also include DBT, CBT, ACT, and mindfulness skills, and the use of writing, art, and psycho-drama.
I strive to help my clients to discover and honor their own voices, celebrating their unique identities in an often challenging climate. Throughout my work as a therapist, I have developed a strong belief in the power of resilience and in the ever-important use of humor.
